Dean Wallis commenced his career with the Bombers in 1987. During that time he experienced the highs and lows that AFL football can throw at you. The two premierships were the highlights, the battle with injury the lowlight. To acknowledge Dean's achievements and his contribution to the Essendon Football Club, 2001 was made his Testimonial season. One of the highlights of the Events Calendar this season was Dean's Testimonial Dinner. Dean was honoured by more than 550 guests at the Hilton on the Park on July 7 2001. ""It was one of the best nights of my life. It was great to catch up with people who have influenced my career in many different ways,"" Wallis said.

One of the highlights of the evening was the players tribute to Dean. Led by Captain James Hird and with Judd Lalich on the guitar, the players performed Dean's True Blue. You can tune in to the Engine Room to see footage of the song. And to celebrate the career of one of Essendon's favourite sons, the club is selling Limited Edition Montage Prints - ""Wally's Journey.""
