Essendon Football Club is encouraging all Bomber fans to get their hands dirty for a good cause, this Sunday, 2nd March, as part of Clean Up Australia Day. The event provides a great opportunity to create harmony and pride in your local area.

Essendon have teamed up with the Socially Active Youth Group Organisation (SAY GO), along with the Moonee Ponds Creek Citylink Creek Connections Program, Victoria Police, Moonee Valley City Council, Jesuit Social Services and other Community and Government groups to participate in cleaning up the Flemington and Moonee Ponds creek area, including the removal of weeds, graffiti and rubbish.

We are encouraging Essendon fans to help us clean up 4 km of creek from Ormond road to Macaulay road, with registration areas being held at the Flemington and North Melbourne Community Centres.

Everyone who participates on the day is also invited to join us for a BBQ featuring a selection of traditional African food which will be served from 1pm at the Flemington Community Centre.

Those interested in participating are reminded to:

- Register at either Flemington or Nth Melbourne Community Centre (everyone needs to register)
- Wear suitable clothes for the day and if sunny wear a hat and sunscreen
- Bring a drink bottle
- Wear sturdy shoes (not thongs or sandals)
- Children under 14 must be accompanied by adult
- Do not handle syringes - if you do find one, please inform the site supervisor
