The Bendigo Bombers have revived their season after winning its past two games. With only one match remaining in the home and away season, the Bombers currently sit in eighth position. A win against Tasmania on Sunday will guarantee a finals berth.

It will be a tough game for Bendigo to over come the fifth placed Tasmania. An injection of senior players will greatly help Bendigo’s cause as will playing at their home ground – Queen Elizabeth Oval.

Veteran defender Sean Wellman was unlucky to miss senior selection this week after a solid performance for Bendigo last week. Also stiff to miss out on a senior berth is elevated rookie Andrew Lovett.

Lovett backed up his best on ground performance against Geelong with another outstanding game last week. The speedy utility collected 30 possessions in difficult conditions and booted one goal.

Returning to the side after a week in the seniors is Jason Winderlich and dual premiership player Mark Mercuri. Winderlich was serviceable last week against Collingwood’s Leon Davis, but with Andrew Welsh (bruised knee) returning to the seniors, was unable to hold his spot in the team.

Aaron Henneman returns after six weeks on the sidelines with a lacerated kidney. The 23-year-old has been named at full-forward, but is likely to also share the rucking duties with Kepler Bradley. Mark Alvey (bruised ribs) also comes into the team after one week on the sidelines.
