Jobe Watson is closing in on the leaders in Essendon’s footy tipping competition after selecting five winners last week in what proved to be a difficult round of tipping.

The round of upsets caused some headaches for tippers with no one able to successfully nominate eight winners last week. It has caused some congestion at the top of the tipping table with seven Bomber fans now tied in first place with a cumulative score of 32.

Watson’s cumulative total stands at 29 and he is currently ranked at 267th place out of almost 6000 tipsters.

This week Watson tipped the Bulldogs, Demons, Power, Bombers, Swans, Cats, Magpies and Dockers.

It’s still not too late for you to challenge the Bombers’ skipper with away team points still being awarded to late entries for the past five rounds. Late entrants will also still be in the running to win a 50-inch Samsung Plasma Screen TV with a Samsung Blu-ray Home Theatre package (worth a total of $2600).

Tipsters who beat the captain’s total at the end of the season will receive a $20 Bombershop e-voucher (redeemable when entrants spend a minimum of $50 online).

Meanwhile in other competition news, Craig Mason is the clear leader in the adidas SuperBoot competition after Round 5 with 31 goals. However he no longer has a Coleman card up his sleeve after using it on St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt in Round 2.

The participant who tallies the most goals over the 2010 season will win a Samsung Plasma valued at $1600. Plus, any entrant who tips more than 147 goals for the 2010 season could win $25,000 cash.
