Essendon received a blow tonight when star forward Matthew Lloyd was found guilty of striking Nick Dal Santo in the first quarter of the Round 2 match against St.Kilda. Lloyd received a two-match suspension. The club will make a decision tomorrow if it will appeal the verdict.
In his latest column, Matthew Lloyd has called on Essendon supporters to fill The Dome on Saturday night to pay tribute to one of this club's great players in Mark Mercuri. ""Mercs plays his 200th game this weekend and he has given Essendon fans some great memories in that time. I hope he gets the reception he deserves,"" Lloyd writes in his lastest Insider column.
