The 2012 AFL Dream Team competition is open for another season and over the next week we are set to give you an insight into the best Bombers to select in your team.

In part one of Dream Team Insider, Dr. Dream Team takes a look at the players listed as forwards in this year's competition.

David Zaharakis – $443,200
2011 points average: 88.2
Dr. Dream Team says: Came of age in 2011 with nine scores above 100. Should spend a majority of his time in the midfield while also pushing forward and kicking goals.

Angus Monfries – $393,800
2011 points average: 78.1
If he can continue his role up the ground he’s one to keep an eye on.

Stewart Crameri – $365,000
2011 points average: 72.7
A surprise packet who should only improve this season. Might be a nice fit as a unique forward.

Michael Hurley – $346,000
2011 points average: 68.3
Has superstar written all over him but not a prolific dream team option just yet.

Leroy Jetta – $339,100
2011 points average: 68.5
Is capable of a high score, but I’d be looking at other forwards ahead of him.

Kyle Reimers – $293,200
2011 points average: 58.8
Capable of being a dream team king and dunce – sometimes in the same game.

Alwyn Davey – $275,900
2011 points average: 55.4
Doesn’t find enough possessions of kick enough goals, not the best option for dream team.

Jason Winderlich – $246,100
2011 points average: 49.7
May be the best priced bomber. Blitzed pre-season after a knee injury last season and is great value as a DPP.

Scott Gumbleton – $165,200
2011 points average: NA
Too risky to pick given his injury history. Pass.

Ariel Steinberg – $104,200
2011 points average: NA
Will probably be on the periphery of senior selection all year.

Nick O’Brien – $98,700
2011 points average: NA
Should make his AFL debut at some stage, but there are better choices at his price.

Cory Dell’Olio – $85,800
2011 points average: NA
A rookie selection who might get a game if others are injured.
