Midfielder Brent Prismall joined fellow Bombers Stewart Crameri, Anthony Long and Angus Monfries at Castlemaine’s Botanical Gardens and said it was an enjoyable experience.
“It was good to be able to share some time with the elderly in the local community and learn more about what it is that brings them together each week,” Prismall said.
“To see how happy they were that we were able to join them makes you feel really good about what you are doing.”
Prismall said the support shown over the two day camp in Maryborough, Castlemaine and Kyneton was a welcome surprise to the players.
“There has been a lot more Essendon supporters here than what we thought and hopefully we can rub off on a few more kids to help create future generations of Essendon supporters,” he said.
Essendon players took some time on the second day of their recent Community Camp to the Goldfields region to provide one young Castlemaine resident with the opportunity of a lifetime and Bomber TV was there to catch all the action.
