Jason Winderlich will play his 100thgame this Sunday at AMMI stadium when the Bomber takes on the Crows.
Winderlich, 27, second game for season 2012will coince with his 100th game milestone in an exciting but injuryblighted career.
Jason was taken at number 11 in the 2002National Draft from Gippsland Power as a midfielder come forward withexceptional skill and speed to burn.
Winderlich struggled with injuries in hisfirst four years at Essendon and managed only 30 games as he tried to adjust tothe vigor of AFL football.
Winderlich strung 26 games together between2007-08 seasons and looked every bit the player Essendon drafted but was dealta cruel blow when he was forced into surgery to repair a prolapsed disc.
After missing the remainder of 2008,Winderlich came back strong in 2009 and had finest season to date polling 10Brownlow votes and coming fifth in the Crichton Medal.
Winderlich’s form continued through toseason 2010 in which he averaged 22 disposals and became a prominent figure ofthe Bomber midfield.
However, disaster struck when in round 42011, Winderlich went down with a season ending ACL injury in the firstquarter.
Winderlich has waited a long time to reachhis 100th game milestone, let’s hope the next 100 don’t take aslong.
