Essendon’s apparel partner, adidas, has thrown their support behind the Club's annual Call To Arms cancer match this Friday night by creating unique yellow boots that a number of players will wear during the match.
Essendon’s Ricky Dyson, Sam Lonergan, Courtenay Dempsey, Hayden Skipworth, Scott Lucas, Heath Hocking and Adam McPhee will all wear adidas’ ‘Predator’ boots tomorrow night which have been redesigned in the striking yellow that is symbolic of the Cancer Council and the yellow armbands worn by players.
The boots also feature custom embroidery that commemorates the Call To Arms game and the player's number.
The team at adidas created the boots using the mi adidas system, an exclusive service which allows consumers (and professional athletes) to custom design their own footwear.
The mi adidas system is available to the public at all adidas Sport Performance stores only. Specific models of adidas football, running and tennis footwear can be tailored with personal colouring, striping, insole, outsole, tongue design and custom engraving to include names and country flags.

We are playing the Match of the Century, the 1984 side v the 2000 side, and this may well be the match-up of the century – James Hird v Tim Watson. Just five points separate the teams after the latest round of voting and the Hird / Watson match up shapes as one that might just decide the winner.
