Is this the match-up of the century?
We are playing the Match of the Century, the 1984 side v the 2000 side, and this may well be the match-up of the century – James Hird v Tim Watson. Just five points separate the teams after the latest round of voting and the Hird / Watson match up shapes as one that might just decide the winner.

Matthew Lloyd and Michael Long easily won their match ups against Paul Weston and Neil Clarke respectively while Garry Foulds defeated Adam Ramanauskas.
The 1984 side holds a narrow lead - 8.7 (55) to 7.8 (50). This week’s match ups see John Barnes v Simon Madden, James Hird v Tim Watson and Jason Johnson v Darren Williams.
Some of the comments on last week’s match ups were:
“Rama would be quicker but Foulds stronger. Great match up....Foulds, just. Lloydy over Weston, although Weston could go forward and cause trouble if getting beaten on the backline. Longy to be too creative for the underrated Nobby (RIP),” Stephen McMahon.
“2000 wins straight out this week. Foulds was serviceable but Rama was pure class and Lloydy would love no one better to kick to him. Obviously Lloyd is one of the greatest goal kickers of all time. Wins hands down. And leaping Longy takes it over Neil Clarke for his silky skills,” Bel Henneman.
“A very tough selection this week I had to pick Foulds over Rama you cannot go past the 300 games of Foulds, Lloyd is a certain I had the most trouble choosing between long and Nobby Clarke. I choose Long but not by much Nobby Clarke was a true Essendon champion,” Wayne Hunter.
“For me, Lloyd & Long are clear winners over their respective opponents (as good as Weston & Clarke were)... Rama and Foulds I think is fairly even, but I just give Foulds the nod on this occasion,” Clifford Davison.
