Essendon has more injury concerns after Mark McVeigh and Mark Johnson both re-injured hamstring injuries on Saturday night. It was a costly blow for the Bombers after the pair had just returned after three weeks on the sidelines with injured hamstrings. It is expected the duo will miss the next three weeks.

Jason Johnson is another player that has added to the growing injury list. He injured his hamstring on Friday at the team’s closed training session. Johnson received a knee to the back of the thigh in the first quarter of the Bombers’ Round 1 clash against Port Adelaide. It is thought this incident was the catalyst to his hamstring injury.

A handful of Essendon players are likely to return this week to bolster the line-up. Sean Wellman has been sidelined for the past four weeks with a foot injury. He is likely to return against West Coast. Andrew Welsh missed Saturday night’s match with an injured hand, he is also likely to be an inclusion for Round 3.
