It was initially hoped Lloyd was suffering from a hamstring strain that had been compounded by a corked thigh. It now appears the muscle has been torn meaning an extended period on the sidelines. A significant amount of bleeding around the injury means a scan is yet to be done.
Lloyd took his first step in the rehabilitation process today, spending an hour in the hyperbaric chamber. The best case scenario might be three weeks but it appears more likely to be at least a month on the sidelines.
The injury news got worse for the Bombers today. Mark Bolton will miss the next two weeks with a groin injury while Richard Cole’s battle with injury continues. Cole strained a calf playing for Bendigo on the weekend and will miss the next three games.
Jason Laycock will miss at least one more week with a thigh injury while Andrew Lee (ankle), Courtney Johns (ankle) and Aaron Henneman (shoulder) all face fitness tests. The bright note for the Bombers is Dean Rioli who is ready to resume after a knee injury.
