Essendon utility Adam Ramanauskas will have scans today to determine the extent of damage to his ankle. The 22-year-old rolled his ankle midway through the second quarter of the match against Carlton and took no further part in the game. ""At this stage we are not sure how long Adam will be sidelined for. The scans today will reveal if there is any ligament damage. He is on crutches at the moment and has already had physio treatment on the area,"" Fitness coach John Quinn said.

Rising star Andrew Welsh is recovering well from his shoulder injury. Scans last week cleared him of ligament damage and at this stage he should be available to play against Richmond in round 20. ""Andrew will spend a lot of time on the bike this week to make sure he keeps his fitness levels up. Luckily for him the injury wasn't severe and he should be back playing next week,"" Quinn said.

Bomber veteran Paul Barnard got a knock to his shoulder in the second quarter of yesterday's Bendigo Bombers match. The 30-year-old was taken straight from the ground and took no further part in the match. ""At this stage we are expecting Barnard to miss this week. He has bruising to the shoulder area but luckily no ligament damage. We will assess him further this week."" Rookie Courtney Johns received a minor set-back yesterday when he received a knock to his knee in the match against the Northern Bullants. Johns did not re-appear after half-time as a precautionary measure.

Youngsters Jason Winderlich and Jobe Watson have been sidelined in recent weeks with groin soreness. The duo will train this week and football manager Dominic Cato said at this stage both are a chance to play. Jordan Bannister is recovering well from his broken collarbone. Quinn said Bannister is doing a lot of work on the bike to maintain his fitness base.

The senior Essendon squad will have a light training session this afternoon at Windy Hill at 3pm. The Bendigo Bombers team had recovery this morning and has the afternoon off. The full squad will have an intensive skills session on Wednesday at Windy Hill.
