Essendon has informed forward Jayden Davey that he will not be offered a contract for the 2025 season.
Davey was drafted by the Bombers as a father-son selection in the 2022 National Draft and spent 2023 on the sidelines as he recovered from an ACL injury.
Playing 18 VFL games this season, Davey scored 17 goals, including a season-high of three in Round 16 against Casey Demons.
AFL Talent and Operations Manager Matt Rosa acknowledged Davey’s commitment over the past two years.
“Jayden has worked incredibly hard over the past two years to recover from his ACL injury and get himself back to playing football,” Rosa said.
“We thank him for his commitment and contribution to the club. Jayden will always be an Essendon person, and we wish him all the best moving forward.”
