Former premiership player Greg Brown has been elected to the board of the Essendon Football Club.

The result of the EFC election was officially announced at tonight’s Annual General Meeting, held at the Clocktower Centre in Moonee Ponds.

There were eight nominations for the five vacant board positions and Essendon members voted Daryl Jackson, Greg Brown, David Evans, Brad Teal and Alec Epis onto the board.

Pat Leggett, who had been on the Essendon Football Club board for eight years, was not returned while Michael Schiavello and Joe Amalfi also missed out on election.

Club chairman also Ray Horsburgh confirmed the club's operating profit of $1.66 million for the financial year ending October 31st, while life memberships were awarded to Jason Johnson, Neil McKissock, Rob Destradi, Nick Neophitou and Charlie Italia.

The club's draft selections – Mal Michael, Scott Gumbleton, Leroy Jetta, Tom Hislop, Bachar Houli and Kyle Reimers were also introduced to those in attendance.
