Essendon’s pocket-rocket, Andrew Lovett, impressed fans again this season with his blistering pace and flair on the football field.
He is establishing himself as a player that the opposition sides need to watch out for given his ability to change a game off his own boot.

What some of the Essendon fans had to say:
Andrew is one of the excitement machines of the club. With a good pre-season and an injury free year, Andy could be anything. However, consistency from week to week is his big challenge in 2008. (Andy Hodges)
Lovett is improving each year and with a solid pre-season he is headed for great things. His pace and skill are extremely valuable to the team and I hope he can elevate his stature outside of Essendon in the greater football community. (Ross Hutton)
Lovett had a lean start to the year but finished off strongly. His pace, along with his goal scoring ability, are great assets to the team. As he builds his stamina and endurance he will have an even greater influence on games through the midfield. (Rod Ansell)
His pace is electrifying but he needs to take more risks in the backline in order to take advantage of his speed coming down the wings or corridor. (Anthony Murone)
Statistically was his best year, but you just get the feeling he has another gear that he has not shown us yet. If Andrew can have a massive pre-season, he will become an elite player. (Jakob Sluiter)
Lovett was overshadowed by fellow team mate Alwyn Davey this year, but at his best, he can be breathtaking. Andrew adds speed to the Bomber line-up which they need so desperately. After a solid pre-season, he is sure to be one to watch in 2008. (Steven Smith)
