While other veterans iced knees and shoulders after this week’s Legend’s Game, it would not have surprised anyone if Essendon’s Mark Harvey had been icing his elbows and knuckles post match. Such was the “ferocious” nature of his attack on the All Star line-up at The Dome. It was an interesting night out for the Victorian captain and we thought we should get some light-hearted thought’s from people around the club on the assistant coach’s performance.

Kevin Sheedy: It isn’t surprising the AFL is sending a letter to Mark Harvey for conduct unbecoming both from a skill and discipline point of view. These games are important for charity and we need this game to really grow but that won’t happen if players turn in that sort of performance. I heard the Brownless family is terribly upset (the pair clashed late in the game) and so they should be – it was quite reckless. I think he should have to face the tribunal. That sort of behaviour from an assistant coach following the week we have had at the tribunal – I might have to sit down with Mark and say “maybe, you are the problem”.

Adrian Dodoro: “I thought he was a disgrace, particularly so considering the media attention this club has attracted for its lack of discipline this week. He really didn’t conduct himself in a manner that I would have expected – it set a poor example for the players. And I’m told he looked right at home at the after-match function wearing his 1980s stretch denim and his green cardigan. It was a bad night all round for him really.

Adam Ramanaukas: He moved terribly. And if that was an example of how to lead a football team, well let’s say it’s a good thing nobody followed his example. And that bump that he cleaned up Billy Brownless with at the end – it wouldn’t have knocked my grandmother over.

Matthew Lloyd: We saw more of him during the post-match presentation than we did for the entire game. He tried to throw a few cheap jabs at opposition players but he either couldn’t catch them or by the time the fist reached its target they were out of the picture. I suppose everyone is entitled to one bad game a season.

Mark Johnson:: Fair dinkum – he couldn’t get a kick in a street-fight nowadays. I think one thing really sums it up – you know you are in trouble when Russell Gilbert is getting more of the ball than you are.

Joe Misiti: Did he actually play in that game. I watched it but can’t recall seeing him. I think you should check the facts before getting stuck into him.
