Essendon backman Dustin Fletcher is keen to turn around last week’s form against Port Adelaide with a win over the Western Bulldogs this Saturday. Essendon takes on the boys from Whitten Oval in the second round of the Wizard Cup at the clubs home ground Colonial Stadium. ""The boys were disappointed with their performance last weekend against Port Adelaide. We want to turn it around this week with a good win over the Bulldogs. We are looking forward to playing at Colonial Stadium - it is our first game there for the season,"" Fletcher told a packed press conference earlier today.

Despite last night's training session being washed out, the Bombers have worked particularly hard this week. The team trained this morning at the State Netball Centre in preparation for Saturday's game. ""We have had a hard week on the training track and the team is primed for a good game. We trained this morning at the State Netball Centre. There is a good feeling around the club and we are still hopeful we can make the finals of the Wizard Cup,"" Fletcher said.

The Essendon squad has been strengthened for this weekend's match with Mark McVeigh, Adam Ramanaukas, Dean Solomon and Chris Heffernan all returning to the senior line-up. Danny Jacobs will miss with a knee injury and Paul Salmon is still one week away. ""It is great to have those senior blokes returning to the side. It will give us more drive through the mid-field and hopefully create more opportunities up forward,"" an enthusiastic Fletcher said. If attitude is any gauge, Bomber fans can expect a big performance from the boys in red and black.
