Fans at the selection table
More than 1000 Bomber fans had their say in our most recent ""Best 22"" survey when we asked you to pick the side Essendon selectors should stick with for the remainder of this season. Keep in mind this side was selected prior to the Bombers win over St Kilda but there were some interesting selections just the same. As promised, these results will be passed on to Essendon coach Kevin Sheedy.

Essendon fans are still very keen to see Ricky Dyson in the final 22 – Essendon fans named him on the bench again. Jason Laycock comes into the side replacing Matthew Allan and has been named in a forward pocket. Other new inclusions are Andrew Lovett, Angus Monfries and Nathan Lovett-Murray.
Out of the team selected early in the year is Jobe Watson who has struggled with injury at different times this season. The other major omission was Damian Cupido while Mark Bolton is still missing. Brent Stanton comes off the bench and onto a wing – replacing the injured Adam Ramanauskas.
In his weekly column - The Word from Hird - Bomber skipper James Hird talks about the brilliant performance of Dean Rioli against St Kilda last Friday night. ""On face value you would look at his numbers and think it had been a run of the mill game of football - solid without being dominant. The numbers lie – Dean Rioli was probably the best player on the ground in my opinion,"" Hird writes. Read the Word from Hird.
