Essendon Football Club, in partnership with Alcaston Gallery, is excited to announce a photographic competition and exhibition based on AFL football and the wider community.
The competition seeks to encourage young people in remote, rural and city based communities to capture the positive effects of footy and how it enriches their everyday lives in new and innovative ways.
Entrants are encouraged to use their own or borrowed everyday technology, including cameras, tablets, android phones, iPhones and iPads tablets to capture special moments connected to footy and its associated themes. Participants are also encouraged to use their imagination and be creative by using digital programs such as Photoshop, apps and filters to enhance their photographs.
The exhibition itself is titled: Point, Click, Capture, Upload, Tag: #AFL #Footy #Ilovethisgame
The judge for this competition is Essendon Football Club superstar Patrick Ryder and the selection of finalists’ panel includes Patrick Ryder and Alcaston Gallery Director Beverly Knight.
This unique initiative encourages all artists, art workers and all lovers of AFL to participate and be in the running for the opportunity to win a personalised guernsey signed by Patrick Ryder + $1,000 cash.
The closing date for photo submissions is 31 July, 2013.
