VFL finals hopes remain alive
Essendon has kept its VFL finals hopes alive with a 59 point win over Frankston at Windy Hill on Saturday afternoon.
A six goal to two opening quarter set up the win for the Bombers who used clean ball movement all day to give their forwards first opportunity.
Will Hams, Zac O’Brien and Ben Duscher all played important roles through the midfield getting plenty of the ball to set up the Bombers forward line.
Matthew Bate (four goals) and Cory Dell’Olio (three goals) led the way up forward for the Dons.
Ariel Steinberg, Jason Ashby and Dylan Van Unen were among the most important players in the back half setting up attack from defence.
The Bombers now face a must win match against North Ballarat at Windy Hill on Saturday if they want to play in the finals.
