Tuesday 22 October
Herald Sun are reporting that the deal between Essendon and Stewart Crameri is still playing out, with the Bombers wanting to secure an appropriate deal in exchange for the forward. The News Ltd outlet is reporting the Dogs could secure the 25-year-old by giving Essendon picks 26 and 42, with the Bombers handing back its pick 48. But the Dons reportedly want to use pick 48 in another deal, believed to involve a Greater Western Sydney player.

Scott Gumbleton could also head to Fremantle with the Bombers receiving pick 54, for the former No.2 pick in the 2006 national draft.

Monday 21 October
Despite widespread reports, Geelong forward Paul Chapman has not signed with Essendon. Mainstream media outlets are reporting that he has signed a two-year deal to move to the Bombers, but Essendon can confirm that at this stage, this is not the case.

AFL.com.au are reporting that both Essendon and Adelaide are still locked in a battle for the services of Greater Western Sydney youngster Shaun Edwards. The talented 19-year-old midfielder/defender has played two games this year for a total of 12.

Friday 18 October
The Age and Herald Sun are reporting that Essendon has expressed interest in out-of-contract Brisbane player, Billy Longer. Both publications say that Essendon and St Kilda have both met with the ruckman in an attempt to convince him to return to Melbourne.

The Age are also reporting that Essendon forward Scott Gumbleton has told the club that he wants to be traded to Fremantle. The Dockers are understood to be offering pick 54 for Gumbleton.

Herald Sun are reporting that Nick Dal Santo will make a decision about a club in the coming days. Discussions are still taking place with St Kilda, as well as North Melbourne and Essendon who have both expressed interest in the free agent.

Paul Chapman has also passed a medical examination at Essendon and the club still remains in negotiations with the Western Bulldogs regarding to the trade with Stewart Crameri according to The Age.

Thursday 17 October
AFL.com.au reports that Fremantle will make a decision about recruiting Essendon forward Scott Gumbleton by the end of the week. Gumbleton, who underwent medical testing with the Dockers, has played 35 matches for the Bombers.

Wednesday 16 October
Herald Sun are reporting that Paul Chapman will undergo medical tests at Essendon with the 32-year-old being one step closer to his former premiership coach Mark Thompson. Carlton are also reportedly in the mix for the Norm Smith Medallist.

Tuesday 15 October
David Myers' manager Colin Young has said his client is in the mix for a trade. "David would love to play in the midfield more regularly. David could very well be in the mix for a trade. If it does happen, it won't transpire until next week because he's contracted." AFL.com.au reports tht Myers wants more time in the midfield and is open to a trade if the Bombers can strike one that suits all parties.

Young also spoke about the prospect of a deal being struck with Essendon forward Leroy Jetta, who himself is open for trade. Jetta is currently on tour with the international Rules team in Ireland.

AFL.com.au also report that Nick Dal Santo will make a call on his playing future in the next 24 hours. Dal Santo has been strongly linked to Essendon since the Trade Period commenced.

Monday 14 October
According to The Advertiser, Adelaide midifelder Bernie Vince is being courted by three Victorian clubs, with Essendon one of them - along with Melbourne and North Melbourne. The Advertiser is reporting that Essendon could do a straight swap with key forward Scott Gumbleton.

Fairfax Media are reporting that forward Scott Gumbleton has passed medical testing with Fremantle, and has expressed a desire to play for the Dockers next season. Adelaide and Port Adelaide have also signalled their interested in the native West Australian.

Sunday 13 October
St Kilda are forced to deny that Leigh Montagna wants to leave the club. Essendon was linked with the contracted Saint, but AFL.com.au reports that there is little chance Montagna would make his way to the Bombers.

Saturday 12 October
The rumour mill is buzzing with news that a deal with Essendon and Paul Chapman is imminent. The out-of-contract Geelong premiership player has a long history with newly appointed senior coach Mark Thompson.

Friday 11 October
Scott Gumbleton is again gaining interest from a number of other clubs, with Port Adelaide the latest to be linked to the key forward. It has been reported that the 25-year-old will undergo fitness and medical tests on the weekend with Fremantle.

Thursday 10 October
AFL.com.au reports that Essendon has expressed interest in young Brisbane player Sam Docherty who is keen to return to his native Victoria.

Wednesday 9 October
Fremantle and Adelaide have reportedly expressed interest in Essendon forward Scott Gumbleton. Fremantle have also been linked to livewire forward Leroy Jetta. List Manager Adrian Dodoro said on Trade Radio that they pair remain 'required players' at the club.

Tuesday 8 October
Fremantle Football Manager Chris Bond told Trade Radio this afternoon that the Dockers were interested in Essendon forward Scott Gumbleton. Fremantle chased Gumbleton last ear and are again after him this year. Bond said "His resilience is outstanding and we'll continue with our due dilligence." 

Monday 7 October
The first official day of the AFL Trade period has commenced. Essendon List Manager Adrian Dodoro is at Etihad Stadium for today's club meetings.

AFL.com.au reports that the Stewart Crameri deal between Essendon and Western Bulldogs is far from done. The Bulldogs have reportedly offered Cramer a four-year deal believed to be worth up to $1.8million, but Bulldogs List Manager Jason McCartney told Trade Radio that there 'is still a fair bit of work to go'.

Friday 4 October
Travis Colyer's agent Colin Young has said he is in discussions with another club, rumoured to be from his home state of Western Australia. It is reported that Colyer is expected to make a decision within the next 24 hours.

Wednesday 2 October
Amongst the Buddy Franklin speculation, St KIlda have this morning declared that Nick Dal Santo remains a required player. St Kilda List Manager Ameet Bains confirmed that Essendon was interested in Dal Santo, but the club had not put forward any formal offer.

Herald Sun reports that Dustin Martin rejected a last-minute offer from Essendon yesterday before he re-signed with Richmond.

The newspaper also reports that Jake Carlisle remains in the sights of Greater Western Sydney, who would give up pick No.1 for the talented defender.

Taylor Adams manager Winston Rous tells AFL's Trade Radio Essendon is one of five Melbourne club's to have met with the Greater Western Sydney midfielder who is keen to return home to Melbourne.

Essendon captain Jobe Watson has said he would welcome out of contract Geelong forward Paul Chapman to the club withopen arms.

Chapman is yet to re-sign with Geelong but has indicated his desire to play on next season.

“You always look at the guys who are available and we are quiet a young list so it would be nice to have some more experience around them,” Watson said.

“When there is great players that are available you would like to see those players finish their careers with the team.”

“It is good to see them finish with the team they have played with and invested so much into.”
