Essendon Football Club wishes to extend its deepest condolences to the Lee family, following the tragic passing of club member Mona Lee.

Mona, an avid Essendon member, was one of the victims on board flight MH17 tragically shot down flying over eastern Ukraine last week.

Chairman Paul Little said the club was saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs Lee.

“On behalf of the Essendon Football Club, I would like to express our great sadness at the passing of Mona Lee,” Little said.

“The Essendon family has lost a loved member in these recent tragic events in the Ukraine and our thoughts are with the Lee family.”
