As he prepares to return to the Club in August, James Hird has revealed his passion to coach is as strong as ever.

Hird, speaking on the premiere of The Hangar, said his current suspension had not diminished his desire to return as senior coach in 2015.

“In terms of my passion for coaching, I can’t wait to come back,” Hird said.

“I’m counting down the days, it is less then six months till I come back and I can’t wait to come back and coach.”

“I can’t wait to coach this football club again, coach the players and reward the supporters for all the faith they have put in our football club.”

“I don’t think anyone in terms of football have experienced what we have had to experience and it has been a very difficult time.”

Hird said the support and enthusiasm for the Club shown by the fans and players was extremely encouraging for the season ahead.

“I think the players and supporters are what the life blood of a football club are,” Hird said.

“You talk about supporters in terms of how great they have been to get behind the club and the players to get behind the club and re-commit at the end of last year.”

“Just hearing their enthusiasm in their voice for season 2014, you wish them all the best, it is very exciting when you come up to a new season.”

“In terms of Essendon fans you couldn’t have asked for anything more and I think that speaks for why we are a great club.”

The full interview with James Hird will air on the season premiere of The Hangar on FOX Footy at 9.30pm on Tuesday night.
