It was a Red and Black Bash at the the True Value Solar Centre on Friday, as more than a thousand fans turned out to see the Essendon All Stars take on the Melbourne Renegades in a game of 10/10 cricket.
Cricket stars Muttiah Muralitharan and Alex Doolan took to the field for the Renegades as the Bombers, led by captain Jobe Watson, showed off some of their cricketing skills.
Greeted with a perfect summers day, there was plenty of fun activities for supporters to get involved in before the game, with many fans getting their first glimpse of the new facilities.
It was the Bombers who won the toss, with Watson electing to send the Renegades in to bat, as Muralitharan and Hill opened the batting for the visitors.
After a shaky start, the Renegades recovered to set the Bombers a competitive target of 110.
The highlight of the innings was a classic catch taken by Michael Hibberd in the outfield, with an effort that amazed fans and Renegade players alike.
In reply, the Essendon All-Stars sent out Heppell and Stanton to start the Bomber innings.
After plenty of big shots and some not-so memorable moments, it all came down to the last ball, with skipper Jobe Watson requiring one run off the bowling of Muralitharan.
A quick single was enough to see the Essendon All-Stars claim victory, much to the delight of the home fans.
