Essendon VFL players Sam Tagliabue and Daniel Coghlan are among 91 draft hopefuls to be invited to NAB AFL State Screening later this year.
Coghlan and Tagliabue have caught the eye of recruiters with strong seasons in the club’s VFL team.
In his second season on the club’s VFL list Tagliabue has shone following on from an injury interrupted 2013.
A mobile 206cm ruckman he has shown his ability to push forward and kick a goal when called upon.
Coghlan is also in his second season on the club’s VFL list having played 6 games in 2013.
He is an inside midfielder who possesses great vision inside a contest and the ability to use the ball well.
VFL Coach Hayden Skipworth said he was excited to see the pair given the opportunity to attend the screening.
“The invitation for Daniel and Sam to attend the Combine is great recognition of their development as players over the last few seasons.”
“Both players have shown consistent form throughout this season and deserve the chance to showcase their talents among the best young players in the country.”
The pair will attend state screening on October 4 in Melbourne.
