Greater Western Sydney ruckman Jonathan Giles is expected to make a decision on his playing future in the next 24 hours.

Essendon is one of two clubs that Giles has met with in recent weeks with the Giants big man set to pick his club of choice on Tuesday.

Giles is still under contract but has indicated his desire to find a new club in 2015 after falling behind Shane Mumford at the Giants.

“I need to make a call ASAP,’’ Giles told the Advertiser.

“It’s a very, very tough decision for me because both clubs have presented me with good opportunities.

“I’ve been stewing over it for days and have found it hard to separate the two clubs but I can’t afford to hold it up any longer.’’

The 26-year-old met with Essendon last week and was impressed with the opportunity the club could present him.

The 201cm big man spent four years in Port Adelaide's list without a game before moving to the Giants where he has played 51 matches in three seasons.

He is also a proven forward option having kicked 39 goals in his 51 matches with the Giants.

“I’ve loved my time at the Giants but I spoke to Leon (coach Leon Cameron) at the end of the season and said I wanted to play more footy and would look at options elsewhere,’’ Giles said.

“He understood that so hopefully once I make my decision about where I want to play a trade can be organised.’’

Giles has also met with Adelaide who are looking to top up their ruck stocks.
