High Performance Manager Justin Crow said the group was well prepared for the extreme heat.
“We are not going to be doing a lot different, we are looking forward to training in the heat,” Crow said.
“We are going to get some really good sessions with a bit more pressure on the guys because of the temperature and we are really looking forward to seeing how they respond.”
Crow said ensuring the team remained well hydrated would be a key focus over the next week.
“We will be looking at the guys hydration really closely in the morning and testing for that,” he said.
“We will also be encouraging them to make sure they are taking in lots of waters and fluid in to make sure they cope in these conditions.”
With the club set to play two NAB Challenge matches during February training in the heat is set to be good conditioning for the pre-season competition.
“We are really looking forward to having a normal session and it is very likely we will play in some heat during the NAB Challenge,” he said.
“It is going to be good to get a little bit of stimulus that the heat will give us during training.”
“We are hoping that the extra stress that the heat will provide will give us a bit more of a boost as well.”
