Essendon captain Jobe Watson has been announced as the third Honouree Australian Ambassador for Camp Gallipoli.

Camp Gallipoli is a once in a lifetime event that brings people of Australia and New Zealand together as one to camp out and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the landing in Gallipoli.

Each site will have a historical link to Gallipoli, WW1 and other theatres of war.

The venues will allow families, schools and community groups to camp out under the same stars as the original ANZACS 100 years ago.

“ANZAC Day to me is a chance to honour and remember those people who have served and are serving to protect the freedoms that we as Australian’s cherish,” Watson said.

“To be a part of a day that we remember people who have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives for us is incredibly humbling.”

“I know that every player at Essendon Football Club treasures the opportunity and hopes that by displaying the skills that we have to the best of our ability we provide enjoyment and entertainment to the Australian people on such a special day.”
