Essendon Football Club's 2014 Family Day proudly presented by Red Energy will be on Friday 7th March, starting at the special time of 6:00pm.  Join in the fun and festivities of a twilight event following the club’s final NAB Challenge game against Richmond at Punt Road Oval.

FAMILY DAY ACTIVITIES AND AMUSEMENTS

Membership: The Essendon FC membership team will be on hand to assist with all membership enquiries.  Senior coach Bomber Thompson will be located in the membership marquee ( time to be confirmed) signing autographs for members only, so make sure you bring along your membership card, welcome email or receipt in order to get Bombers’ signature. 

Bombers Shop HQ:  The Bomber Shop will have three sales locations, including the Bomber Shop HQ, Essendons new club shop, a marquee on the oval and their merchandise trailer. Each outlet will have a huge selection of official merchandise available including 2014 adidas on field and training apparel, club exclusive 2014 member merchandise and ‘Don The Sash’ caps, posters and tees available in youth and adult sizes. The Don the Sash tees feature the 2014 playing list on the back of the garment, perfect for players autographs on the night. Heat press your favorite players name and number on the back of your guernsey, and Don your personalized sash. Present your 2014 membership card for 10% off. The Long Walk Marquee: 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of The Long Walk.  Events to celebrate this milestone include The Long Walk Fun Walk and a Wellbeing Concert before The Long Walk to Dreamtime at the G on Saturday 31st May.   Come and find out more at The Long Walk marquee and meet Essendon FC players Leroy Jetta and Shaun Edwards who will be signing autographs between 6pm and 7:15pm. 

Kia: Be surprised by the 2014 range on display and book a test drive with any of the Kia staff.  Also, find out how you can win your own Kia Rio Si by taking part in the footy tipping competition

True Value Solar Kids Zone: The True Value Solar Kids Zone will be full of activities for fans of all ages.  Some of the activities include the Essendon FC community inflatable challenges, a mega obstacle course, bucking football and visits from the Victoria Police and Melbourne Fire Brigade.

Adidas: Our apparel partner will be on site showcasing the launch of MiTeam. Fans will have the opportunity to design their own EFC hoodie with all designs submitted for a chance to win. The winners design will be produced for the team to wear to a selected 2014 game.

Boots For All:  Be sure to bring along your pre-loved footy boots and donate them at the Boots For All marquee to go into the draw to win 1 of 2 opportunities to present a jumper on stage to one of the players later that evening. Boots For All Ambassador Michael Hurley will also be in attendance at the marquee signing autographs from 6pm until 7.15pm.

Cancer Council:  As the club’s charity partner, Cancer Council Victoria will be on site with information on this year’s Relay for Life, Call to Arms match and further ways you can assist in the fight to end cancer.  Cancer Council Victoria Ambassador Paddy Ryder will be signing autographs between 6pm and 7:15pm. 

Bully Zero: The Bully Zero marquee will have information on how they protect & empower Australians to live a fulfilling life free from all forms of bullying.  Bully Zero Ambassador Cale Hooker will be signing autographs for fans between 6pm and 7:15pm.

Food and Beverages: We have all taste buds covered with the Bomber Café, Aangan Indian cuisine, Davey’s Baked Poatoes and Pizza, Banh Mi Boys Asian cuisine and Rue de Creperie for those sweet tooths.

Social Marketing Committee Raffle: Our Social Marketing Committee will be selling raffle tickets to win.

First prize: Jobe Watson Signed Jumper with authenticity certificate

Second prize: 2013 Autograph football with authenticity certificate 

Tickets are $2 for one ticket or $5 for three tickets.  The raffle will be drawn at 8pm with winners announced over the PA with prizes available for collection at the EFC reception.

GETTING TO THE TRUE VALUE SOLAR CENTRE

The most direct route to Family Day is via the Tullamarine Fwy.  If heading northbound, take the Melrose Drive exit and continue along Melrose for approximately 3km.  You can also exit Tullamarine Fwy via Calder Fwy.  If taking this route, exit at Keilor Park Drive, turn right on Link Road and then right again onto Melrose Drive.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

SITA have provided shuttle buses which will run from Broadmeadows station starting at 5pm to ensure all fans can access Family Day.  These buses will depart from outside the Pascoe Vale Road Family Clinic, on the corner of the station exit. We will have a security guard on site assisting fans with these shuttle buses.  These buses will run every 10 minutes and will continue to run until after the event.

PARKING INFORMATION

Parking will not be available on site; however it is available in the surrounding area. 

Melbourne Airport Club: Available to fans for a gold coin donation.  The Melbourne Airport Club is on Melrose Drive, situated just after the True Value Solar Centre if approaching from the Mickleham Road round-a-bout.  There will be parking signs to indicate the entrance. 

Residential Parking: There is limited parking in the residential streets both opposite the True Value Solar Centre and prior to the Mantra Hotel, accessible from Melrose Drive.  Please ensure you familiarise yourself with any parking restrictions that may apply in these areas.

Disabled Parking: A limited amount of disabled parking will be available on Family Day located at Tullarmarine Reserve on Melrose Dr.  This parking is directly opposite the entrance to the True Value Solar Centre. Please note there will be a parking attendant on this entry and only cars with disabled parking passes will be allowed entry.
