Bio: A tall defender who is an excellent kick with both feet, Hurley is renowned for his strong attack on the ball, and he is good in a contested situation, with his spoiling a strength. An AIS/AFL Academy graduate and Vic Metro under-18 representative. He won All-Australian under-18 honours in 2007 and 2008. From Macleod FC.
Jason McCartney says: There haven't been many players in the last couple of years who have been able to come in through the NAB AFL Draft and play straight away, but I think as a key defender he wouldn't be that far off it. The ball just doesn't get past him in the back line. He's strong and he's physically intimidating, even though he's not huge at 192cm, and he's a beautiful kick of the footy. Whether he's at full-back or centre half-back when he gets the football in his hands he disposes of it well.
