One of Essendon’s most famous names will be honoured with a special tribute match at Windy Hill with all proceeds going to help find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

Merv Neagle played 147 games for the Bombers and was a member of the 1984 Premiership team.

He was killed in a truck crash in 2012, but his legacy has lived on at the Bombers with his four sons spending time in the James Hird Academy.

Essendon legends Terry Daniher, Simon Madden, Paul Vander Haar and Mark Harvey along with former AFL players Brendan Fevola, Daryn Cresswell, Barry Mitchell, Doug Hawkins and Aussie Jones will all be involved in the game.

You can play in the game too or enjoy a great three course meal and entertainment.

The event takes place at Windy Hill on Wednesday September 2.

The match begins at 4:15pm.
