Matthew Leuenberger pulled on his Club polo and took a tour of the True Value Solar Centre.
Walking alongside new coach John Worsfold, the 203 centimetre ruckman was in awe as he entered the Club’s indoor training facility.
The 27 year-old revealed the Bombers' vision, list and facility blew the rival Club’s offers away.
“Essendon was too hard to ignore, so I’m pumped to be here,” Leuenberger said.
“I feel there’s two quality, big bodied midfielders in Dyson Heppell and Jobe Watson who’ll be really exciting to play with.
“I’m quite optomistic about the list and where it can go, and then you’ve got John (Worsfold) who’s jumped on board and who’s proven, I’ve heard nothing but good things about him.
“The decision was easy in the end, I’m looking forward to it.”
Leuenberger said he’s excited about playing in front of a passionate member and supporter.
“I’m used to playing in front of not too many people at the GABBA,” Leuenberger said.
“The opportunity to play in an ANZAC Day game, with 80 to 90 thousand people, I’ve never experienced that in nine years of playing.”
Leuenberger will begin pre-season training when the full list returns on November 23
