Essendon Football Club would like to thank Jonathan Giles for his professionalism and commitment during the 2015 season.

The Club today agreed to trade the ruckman and its fourth round selection (pick 62) in exchange for the West Coast Eagles’ third round selection (pick 57).

List and Recruiting Manager, Adrian Dodoro, wished Giles every success at the Eagles.

“Jonathan is a terrific person and he has been the ultimate professional since he walked into the football Club,” Dodoro said.

“Unfortunately he was unable to cement his place in the senior side, but when given the opportunity he gave his all for the Club and his teammates.

“With the inclusion of Matthew Leuenberger on our list, and Callum Sinclair’s move to Sydney, the trade provides Jonathan with an opportunity to secure more game time at West Coast.

“From everyone at the Club we wish Jonathan all the best as he embarks on a new chapter in his career at the West Coast Eagles.”

The Club currently holds selections 4, 23, 25, 44, 57, 80, 98 and 116 at next month’s National Draft in Adelaide.
