The AFL Commission welcomes the appointment of Lindsay Tanner to the role of Essendon Football Club Chairman and acknowledges the work of outgoing Chairman Paul Little.
AFL Commission Chairman Mike Fitzpatrick said Mr Tanner brought with him a tremendous amount of experience to the role.
“As a former Federal Finance Minister and long-serving Member of Parliament, Mr Tanner’s experience and expertise will be an asset to the Essendon Football Club,” Mr Fitzpatrick said.
“It has been a challenging period for Essendon over the past two years and I would like to acknowledge Paul Little’s commitment during this time.”
“Paul has worked tirelessly to lead Essendon through the ASADA investigation and subsequent WADA appeal, and has made a significant contribution to the club.
“On behalf of the Commission I would like to wish him well for the future and thank him once again for his services to Essendon.”
