Jobe Watson is still weighing up whether he will get away during his time on the sidelines.
The Essendon Captain is out for the rest of the season after having shoulder surgery.
He said the option of some time overseas to refresh ahead of the pre-season is appealing, but he's also keen to maintain a strong presence around the team as it tries to maintain the good form it showed against Melbourne.
“I’ll speak to the surgeon and see what he thinks about flying and travel,” Watson told Triple M this morning.
“I’d like to be at the club for a portion of the rest of the season – whether it’s now or more towards the end of the year.”
Watson initially hurt his shoulder in a collision with Hawthorn’s Taylor Duryea, but he played out the rest of the match and fronted up again the next week against St Kilda.
“It was just a good hit and my arm was out at that stage,” Watson said of the Duryea clash.
“There will be guys in every club at the moment who are carrying injuries to play.
“That’s what the game demands.”
Watson is in the early stages of a rehabilitation program that will take about 12-16 weeks.
“It’s about two-three weeks in a sling and then you slowly start to build the rehab up,” Watson said.
“The last stuff that comes in the contact.”
