After capping off an impressive individual 2010 season with a second-place finish in this year’s Crichton medal, Heath Hocking says he has already begun putting in the preparation required to give himself every opportunity to improve next season.
“I was pretty happy with my season this year but I am definitely looking to improve in terms of my consistency,” Hocking told Bomber.tv.
“I didn’t finish the year as well as I would have hoped and I guess that just comes down to having a big preseason and training to finish off a season properly.
“I think that having no injuries is also a big part in being successful so looking after my body and getting all the preparation right is going to be a big focus heading into the preseason.”
Hocking has been a regular visitor to the Windy Hill gym over the players’ break to ensure he is in top shape when preseason kicks off late next week.
“I think we have got a week and a half left until we get straight back into it and I guess all the players have been doing a little bit during our break which is mandatory to ensure we keep fit and come back to start the preseason in a reasonable state,” Hocking said.
