Coach Mark Thompson is hopeful new recruit Shaun Edwards will be causing headaches for opposition teams in 2014 with his ability to use the ball.
Edwards, who joined the Bombers from GWS during the trade period, stands 189cms tall, is extremely quick and has the ability to use the ball by hand or foot.
“Shaun is one of those guys when he is around the ball he will happily get it in his hands and you know he is going to cause a few problems,” Thompson said.
“We have the bullocking type midfielders and we just wanted some players who are going to exit the packs very quickly and Shaun is one of those boys.”

Thompson said Edwards had already showed his ability during pre-season training and he looked forward to continuing to develop the 20-year-old’s game further.
“Shaun could play forward, back or midfield but we just have to teach him to get more of the ball,” he said.
“We back our system in being able to teach him and I think you will see a really good player.”
“With the AFL taking us out of the first couple of rounds of the draft GWS was a really good opportunity was to get a highly rated player who has three years of experience.”
Meantime the Bombers biggest name off-season recruit Paul Chapman has revealed he was drawn to the club due to the resilience shown by the group in 2013.
Chapman has been reunited with his former premiership coach in Thompson this season and is expected to play an important role for the red and black.
“What I saw last year when things were tough and the resilience of the team to keep backing up every week really drew me here,” Chapman said.
“There was nothing nice written in the papers but for this group to back up and achieve what they did up to round 17 was very impressive for me.”
“It was all of that packaged with the history that was inviting for me and I wanted to be a part of.”
