Young forward Ariel Steinberg told teammate Luke Davis the program was a great initiative by the club.

“I’ve really enjoyed it and the program has really helped with making the transition into life as an AFL footballer - we’ve picked up a lot of handy life skills,” Steinberg said.

The program includes managing money, media skills, public speaking, diet and nutrition, well being sessions on how to manage stress and managing risk both on and off field.

Dyson Heppell, Michael Hibberd, Michael Ross and Alex Browne have all debuted in season 2011 and Steinberg said the transition from U/18 level to AFL presented many challenges.

“It’s big step up and probably the main difference has been the bigger bodies - we’ll be looking to spend a lot of time in the gym this summer,” Steinberg said.
