With the 11th annual Dreamtime match upon us, and Dustin Fletcher reaching the 400th game milestone, this crucial clash between Essendon and Richmond is one of the season's most highly anticipated matches.
Here are the Burning Questions.
Will Deledio dominate?
Since coming back from injury, Brett Deledio has hit his best form. He has been central to the Tigers wins over Collingwood and Port Adelaide.
He’s collecting plenty of the ball and kicking goals. The Bombers coaching staff would have put a lot of time in to Deledio this week.
Jake Melksham, Michael Hibberd or Mark Baguley could be the men to get the run with role.
Can Daniher do it again?
Young Bomber Joe Daniher was brilliant against the Lions last week booting six goals.
He’ll face a more experienced opponent this week. Alex Rance is now one of the game’s most elite defenders. He doesn’t just shut down opponents; he also provides tremendous drive when the Tigers have the ball.
Daniher will need to present, but the midfield will need to ensure their delivery gives the key forward a chance.
Can Cooney keep up his classy contributions?
We have only seen glimpses of the Brownlow medallist in red and black but what we see, we like.
He brings speed to the Bomber line up and has added maturity around the ground.
The Brownlow medal winner provides guidance and direction to the young forwards.
Cooney was a vital part of the Essendon’s victory last weekend with 19 disposals, three goals and three goals assists.
After missing out on Anzac Day, expect Cooney to relish the opportunity to play in front of 90,000 fans.
Will Fletcher’s 400th be one to remember?
If it wasn’t for injuries and suspension Fletcher would be playing his 516th game this Saturday night.
The 40-year-old defender is still playing a vital role in the Essendon backline. He can play on tall and small opponents and his field kicking sets up many attacking raids.
Never one to bask in the media spotlight, a Bomber win is what he covets most this weekend.
But a barrel form outside 50 would be fun to watch too.
He's only the third man to reach 400 games, so win or lose, it will be one to remember.
