Essendon has named its round two side to take on Adelaide in the first home game of the season at the MCG this Saturday.

As reported on Wednesday, SSP selection Tom Edwards is the big story of the week, set for an AFL debut after not even being on the Club's list a month ago.

The 24-year-old forward will provide an exciting aerial target inside 50 for the Dons, rewarded after a stellar pre-season run in both AFL and VFL practice matches alike.

Joining Edwards in the team is last week's emergency Jye Menzie, recalled after a strong pre-season block of work including a couple of goals against the Dogs in the Club's first practice match.

The pair replace Kyle Langford and Jordan Ridley, who each sustained injuries out of last week's season opener against Hawthorn.

Essendon's clash against the Crows marks the first time the two sides have faced off at the 'G since 1995.
