Collingwood midfielder Levi Greenwood has been offered a one-match suspension for his high strike on Essendon star Zach Merrett in Saturday's clash at the MCG.

Greenwood elected to bump and made initial contact with Merrett's shoulder, but his left arm slid high and the midfielder made contact to the Bomber's head with his elbow.

The hit was graded as careless conduct with low impact to the head, resulting in a two-match ban that can be downgraded to one with an early guilty plea.

The MRP said no other matters from the match warranted further explanation.
