John Worsfold spoke to FIVEaa about some of Essendon’s key players.

Here is what he had to say.

Jobe Watson

“I’ve got no doubt he’s rejuvenated.  Having the injury – as much as you don’t want it – I think it came at a good time because mentally I think he was really starting to force himself up every week to get out there.

“Physically he’s had a rest and mentally I’ve got no doubt it has been great for him.

“Watson, Myers, Hocking all missed a big chunk of footy this year so having those guys all available will give us a lot of depth through the midfield.”

Brendon Goddard

“I’m pretty excited with what he can offer in terms of his form on the field but also his leadership in educating some of these young guns coming through.”

Brent Stanton

“I’ve had a good chat to Brent while he was overseas.

“He’s been a great Essendon man and we’d love to keep him here throughout his career, so we’re confident we’ll be able to get that done.

“It shouldn’t take too long I wouldn’t think.”
