Nick O’Brien

O’Brien was unlucky miss AFL selection after playing the last seven consecutive games. Still, the midfielder was impressive in the VFL on Sunday gathering 36 disposals and taking control throughout the middle of the ground. O’Brien finished as the VFL Bombers’ leading possessions winner. A proven ball-winner, O’Brien will be on the cusp of selection come Thursday evening.

Patrick Ambrose

Ambrose did what he liked against the Dolphins playing a number of roles up forward and through the midfield. Named among the Dons’ better players, he racked up 31 touches, took 12 marks and booted two goals .A performance that is sure to boost to the confidence of the young forward and hopefully see him in AFL lineup sooner rather than later.

Orazio Fantasia

Fresh from signing a new contract, Fantasia was superb in the VFL on Sunday. Generating his usual run and spark on the outside, Fantasia collected 26 flashy disposals in the massive win. With just three AFL games remaining, Fantasia will be keen to make an impact.

Shuan McKernan

An injury cloud hangs over Giles from the weekend, heightening McKernan’s chances of being included in the AFL side this weekend. McKernan dominated the ruck division collecting 22 touches, taking 11 marks and booting one goal in just three quarters of action. Similarly to Fantasia, McKernan will be looking to make his mark in the AFL team in the remainder of the season if given an opportunity.
