One of Essendon’s most famous families has gathered to celebrate their time with the club and raise money for a worthy cause.
More than 600 people joined Neale, Terry, Anthony and Chris Daniher in the Members Dining Room at the MCG.
The event was organised by the Essendon Football Club and The Dick Reynolds Club.
Throughout the night more than $100,000 was raised to help people suffering from Motor Neurone Disease, the condition Neale is battling.
“Neale is just such an amazing person,” former Coach Kevin Sheedy said.
“Neale was always going to be a great leader in our community and to fill out the MCC Dining Room tonight is just a classic case.
“I’m very proud of him, always have been and the entire family.”
Although there was a serious goal (to raise money for MND), the night was full of good humour, as the Daniher’s recounted some of their favourite football memories.
“The whole family is down so that’s exciting, 11 of us,” Neale said.
“The Dick Reynolds Club and Essendon have been great for our family and we’ll have a good night tonight.
“MND – you don’t get better, you only get worse, but I’m going well.”
