REBEL SPORT ESSENDON FC FAMILY DAY
Come along and join in the fun at the 2002 Rebel Sport Essendon Football Club Family Day on Sunday March 17 2002. The action packed day is being held on Napier Street at Windy Hill from 11am - 3pm. The Official guernsey presentation to all players will commence at 1pm - come along to meet the new recruits and see what your favourite Essendon stars have been up to in the off-season. There will be lots of activities and entertainment for the family, including Jumping castle, Merry Go Round, Slide, Animal Farm, Live bands, Clowns and face painting.

Bookings are essential. Supporters can pre pay for all players except James Hird and Matthew Lloyd. Bookings for these two players will only be available on Family Day. Photos are $20 each.

The countdown to season 2002 is on in earnest and in our continuing Engine Room series we look at the senior listed players and pin-point their roles in the upcoming season. Today we take a look at MARK MERCURI. Mark Mercuri had a season 2001 he would largely prefer to forget. A knee injury early in the season played havoc with the remainder of the year. He struggled to regain full fitness and his form suffered as a result. A proud footballer, it is a season that won’t sit well with him and it is hardly surprising he has been one of the stars of the 2002 pre-season.
