Essendon Football Club wishes to advise the Essendon Board will remain unchanged in 2017 after Simon Madden and Andrew Muir were re-elected unopposed for a further three year term.
Lindsay Tanner (Chairman), Paul Brasher (Vice Chairman & Finance Director), Ken Lay, Dave Barham, Andrew Muir, Simon Madden, Chris Heffernan, Catherine Lio and Paul Cousins make up the full Board of Directors of the Essendon Football Club.
Chairman, Lindsay Tanner, said the stability of the Board comes at an important time for the Club.
“There is a great sense of excitement and purpose across all areas of the Essendon Football Club as we embark on the next exciting chapter in our comeback story,” Tanner said.
“The Club is emerging from the most challenging period in its history and for our incumbent directors to be elected unopposed this year is an important show of faith in the direction we are heading.
“I would like to thank our members for their ongoing support and loyalty. As directors, we exist at the pleasure of our members, and we are truly privileged to hold positions of responsibility at the Club.
“Importantly, we are under no illusions about the hard work we have ahead of us and we are all focused and committed to delivering our shared vision of being the most inclusive, successful and respected sporting organisation in Australian sport.”
The appointments will be formally announced at the Club’s 143rd Annual General Meeting at the Moonee Valley Racecourse on Monday 19th of December.
