Joe Daniher has continued his good form, providing a constant target in attack. He booted his 100th career goal early in the last quarter.
Mitch Brown has provided a regular partner for Daniher in attack, but today he lined up in defence and produced a polished display. Midway through the last term he had taken 16 marks and was the Dons leading ball winner with 23 possessions.
Brown ended the day with 18 marks - just one off the Essendon record held by Jake Carlisle.
Essendon has gone at 58% efficiency with Geelong kicking ten goals from intercepts.
James Kelly (26), Zach Merrett (25) and Mitch Brown (25) were the leading ball winners.
