Essendon VFL will meet Werribee at Adcon Stadium, Port Melbourne on Sunday in a cut-throat semi-final.

The first bounce will be at 2:10pm, with the action televised live on Channel 7.

The winner will progress to a preliminary final against Williamstown at Adcon Stadium on the weekend of September 14/15, with the grand final to be staged at Ikon Park on September 22.

The two sides' paths cross following the VFL Bombers' heartbreaking two-point loss to Richmond in Saturday's qualifying final and Werribee's 41-point win in an elimination final against Box Hill.

Essendon VFL will enter the clash with recent history on its side, having defeated Werribee by 12 points on the road in round 13.
