Continuing their good form of producing on the AFL Fantasy scoreboard, five Bombers racked up 100 plus scores to help the club to a 1639 to 1596 win (let’s forget the actual scoreboard for a moment!).
The fourth highest scoring player overall after three rounds is none other than Zach Merrett (FWD/MID, $565,000). Relishing his time in the midfield, Merrett found the ball 28 times, took an impressive nine marks and laid eight tackles to help him to 128 Fantasy points. An increase of $28K on the weekend ($64K for the season) has helped Zach to be the second best available forward in the competition with an average of 127.7.
Merrett is one of eight players to have score more than 100 in every round so far. Alongside him in another Bomber in David Zaharakis (MID, $503,000).
It is not too late to get Zacka into your team if he isn’t there yet. Yes he has increased a grant total of $88K over the first three rounds, but with a breakeven of just 45, he still has plenty of growth and if he keeps up his form, he’ll be among the top performers for the season.
Speaking of breakevens (the score needed to maintain current price), Anthony McDonald-Tipungutu (DEF/FWD, $223,000) has the lowest for all Dons with -8. He will get closer to $300K over the next month if he continues to pump out 70 plus scores.
Michael Hartley (DEF, $172,000) and Matt Dea (DEF, $252,000) come into round four with breakevens of -4.
Some coaches are keen to go cheap in the backline and there are a few midpricers who could help save cash elsewhere. Orazio Fantasia (DEF, $337,000) scored 100 and with a breakeven of 26, you can’t go too wrong. Look to pick him up as a free agent in AFL Fantasy Elite.
Another player to look for in Elite is Jackson Merrett (FWD, $355,000). Plenty of coaches get keen to dump someone to the free agent list after a poor game (Merrett had just 21 points), but remember he went 75 and 112 in the first two rounds. Get on board if someone has stupidly dropped him!
